Roles and Responsibilities


- MBA in HR
- 7+ Years experience in HR in a Manufacturing company
- Ability to handle HR (as a Head)
- Those staying in Hosur preferred

A steel manufacturing company, established in 1981. They currently have 4 manufacturing facilities in and around Hosur (which is 25 KM from Bangalore).


Partner with senior management to create a performance driven work culture through HR strategies, initiatives, implementation of policies that enable business growth through talent planning, acquisition, development and engagement of people. The role also advises senior management on people management practices and developing a leadership pipeline in line with the company’s business strategy.

Oversee and manage Employee Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Talent
Management, Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits and
Administrative/Regulatory policies.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the HR department strategy in alignment with the business strategy and implement within the vision and mission of Amsteel.
  • Design an organization structure in keeping with the company’s long-standing business strategies and growth.
  • Oversee and consolidate people budget and track implementation.
  • Oversee recruitment plans, deploying latest sourcing strategies and introducing selection techniques for employees fitting into the roles and culture of the organisation.
  • Oversee the development of internal and external recruitment capabilities, maintenance of relations with agencies and ensuring visibility of Amsteel in the local and country wide institutions to enhance the brand image.
  • Oversee recruitment through adequate process and procedures in role and culture fit assessment, selection and verification to have the right resource for the right role.
  • On-board employees in line with the company’s vision, mission and values for long term integration.

Learning & Development

  • Initiate and oversee learning by identifying skill / competency gaps, analysis, design, development and implementation of training program for enhancing both functional and core competencies with ongoing evaluation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of employees.
HR Operations
  • Oversee HR activities that support management and staff in their day-to-day business activities that are important to meet Amsteel’s objectives.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the HR procedures manual for the organization for compensation and benefits, recruitment, performance management, learning and development, etc.
  • Oversee the HR operations activities to ensure that the employee data update, salary, leaves, training history verifications are in compliance with policies and SLAs.
  • Measures employee engagement scores through surveys, leverage employee experience to improve
  • HR process and keep them relevant to the business needs.
  • Ensures accurate recording of people data and publishes MIS, dashboards to enable business growth.
  • Lead the digital HR strategy of implement, support and manage the process transitions and HR automation and digitization Initiatives.
Performance Management

  • Guide the development and implementation of a Human Resource performance management framework in order to measure and improve Amsteel’s people performance by enabling KPIs, Competencies, Goal Setting and Performance Management Process.
  • Ensure that the performance management cycle is in line with the Company’s overall strategy and the established corporate performance management framework.
  • Grooming of high potential resource towards succession planning
  • Initiate and oversee Reward and recognition programs.
Organization Development
  • Guide the development of authority matrix based on Organization Structure roles and responsibilities.
  • Oversee changes in job descriptions, job evaluations and grade structure to ensure that the amendments are accurate and aligned with the organization’s structural changes.
  • Guide the design and development of company-wide change programs as well as change management capabilities aligned with the Amsteel strategy and objectives.
People Management
  • Define goals and key performance indicators for each member of the Human Resources team and ensure effective implementation of the Amsteel performance management process.
  • Manage the team members by evaluating their performance providing feedback on an on-going basis, identifying development needs and coaching them to ensure capability development.
Regulatory / Compliance Management
  • Stays abreast on all employee-related legislative and regulatory changes, frames risk and mitigation strategies to and ensure statutory compliances under various Acts like Factory, PF, ESI etc., in line with the company’s policies.


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Master’s degree / MSW with Specialisation in HR / MBA in Human Resource
  • 10 years of relevant experience in a human resources role including at least 5 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities of leading the HR function in a large company.
  • Hands on experience of having implemented / working with HR Policies and Procedures, Talent Management, Compensation & Rewards Management, HRIS & Digitalization.
  • Managing and ensuring statutory compliances for effective Corporate Governance.
  • Strategic thinking, Planning & Organizing, Problem Solving & Negotiation Skills
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Should speak Tamil
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills

LOCATION : Hosur (Near Bangalore)

SALARY : 10-12 LPA
